Do I need regster to contribute?

No. You can contribute as "Annonymouse" without register and login. However, if you registered and signed in when you contribute, your ciontributiuon will be recorded under your registered name. So you can check your contribution history and your query history too.

How can I contribute?

Simply complete one or more of the sections; add a new author, contribute an author’s work or write a review or commentary on a work featured. You may contribute anonymously although we would prefer it if you can create an account. The benefit for you is that you can see all the entries you have made.

What media type can I contribute?

You can contribute text, images/photo, sound/Podcast and video clips.

How can I contribute audio/Podcast?

LB only hosts a small Episodes in MP3 file (less than 50M).

There are a few steps you should take to upload a Podcast file to LB repository.

For large Podcast we suggest you publish on a free pod cast web site and publishing with a
  1. Rcord an Episode

    First of all, you’ll need to record a few episode. To get up to speed on the podcast creation process, check out this complete guide to recording, editing, transcription and more, to get you spick and span for publishing.

  2. Upload to a host

    After you have record you episode and did necessary postproduction and happy with the quality, you’ll then need to find a host and upload your podcast with their hosting service. After you upload your mp3 file, it generally will produce a RSS feed for it. RSS feeds use a family of standard web formats to publish information that you can update with content and metadata, like episode titles, author names, and descriptions.

  3. Publish and view your podcasts.

    Once you have an aproved RSS feed you can instert your RSS web address into LB contents.

I cannot see my entry

I recently contributed material to Literary Bedfordshire, but I cannot find it when I search. All material submitted to the database has to be verified and edited before it is released to the live system. Your entry is probably currently undergoing the editing procedure. Please check back soon.

Can I correct a mistake?

I have contributed material to the Literary Bedfordshire Database via the online form and have just realised that there is a mistake in the data I submitted. We would be very grateful if you would let us know about any mistakes you make in the form. Please contact us. When submitting data an acknowledgement of your contribution is sent to the email address you provide. This email contains a record ID number unique to that entry. It would be helpful if you could quote that ID number in any correspondence relating to that entry.

What are we looking for?

For the moment we are not including unpublished work that was written after 1900, whether it is creative writing or non-fiction. We are also excluding journalism published in Bedfordshire newspapers, as they are available online.

Why should you involved?

We need your help to find previously hidden authors who deserve to be reconsidered and re-read. We want your selection of the stories by and about the people who have travelled in and out of this vibrant county and make a distinctive history of Bedfordshire.

What evidence can I use?

Common types of evidence include books and magazines, both fiction and non-fiction. These may be novels, diaries, letters, (auto)biographies, commonplace books, manuals, cookery books etc. If you are in doubt as to the relevance or status of evidence, please contact us.

Can I use evidence from a secondary source?

Yes. Please cite this source properly, and include any references (footnotes, endnotes, editorial commentary) that mentions primary source material.
